Église Sainte-Anne

Formerly known as Notre-Dame-la-Principale, the church of Sainte-Anne was the first Roman Catholic parish church in the centre of Arles. Built on the ruins of a former church, its architecture embodies the austere late Gothic style of the 17th century. Deconsecrated after the French Revolution, from 1825 to 1995 it housed the city’s archaeological museum and was known as the “Museum of Pagan Art”. It was listed as a historic monument in 1875 and today welcomes a variety of exhibitions within its Majestic walls.
