Christian Lhopital

Christian Lhopital 1953, Lyon. After his graduation from the Beaux-Arts in 1975, Christian Lhopital took up drawing with a ball-Point pen on writing paper before moving on to large format drawings on paper mounted on canvas. In 1991, he began his series Recouvrements [Covering Up) as a process of obscuring images. His work has been exhibited at the Pompidou Centre and the 11th Lyon Biennale and features in the collection of Antoine de Galbert as well as at the MAMC in Saint-Etienne.
