Loup
1936, Arles – 2015, Paris.
After studying at the Lyon School of Fine Arts, Loup gave up architecture, disappointed at the direction it was taking, and took refuge in humour. From children’s books, intricate puzzle designs, posters, comic strips and tenderly humorous cartoon to scathing press illustrations, he explored various mediums and styles, while continuing to practice architectural drawing as can be witnessed in his astonishing views of restaurants.
