Federico Fellini
1929, Rimini – 1993, Rome.
Starting at the age of 17, Federico Fellini, one of the most distinguished directors in the history of cinema, began publishing cartoons in an extra-curricular newssheet, which inspired him to make it his profession. He contributed to the well-known Rimini weekly La Domenica del Corriere before moving to Rome in 1939, where he worked for the satirical newspaper Marc’Aurello until 1943. As a filmmaker, he used drawing to refine characters, costumes and sets.
