Collezione Ramo

The Collezione Ramo, based in Milan, was created to highlight the originality and importance of Italian drawing in the 20th and 21st centuries. Unique in the world, it is devoted exclusively to this fundamental expressive medium, which was at the heart of the great artistic revolutions of the 20th century. Through a collection of works on paper covering the entire period from the beginning of the last century to the present day, the collection traces the history of Italian art, from Medardo Rosso, Umberto Boccioni, Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Savinio, Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Mario Merz, Alighiero Boetti, Giulio Paolini, Carol Rama, Maria Lai and contemporary artists. With 800 unique works on paper — watercolours, collages, pastels, pencils and felt-tip pens — the Collezione Ramo aims to highlight the richness and diversity of artistic experimentation, unique to a medium that is unrivalled in its authenticity and immediacy. For the exhibition Italian Masterpieces of the 20th Century from the Collezione Ramo, conceived in close collaboration with its director Irina Zucca Alessandrelli, 60 works by the most representative artists of the various movements will be presented for the first time in France. These movements have made the history of Italian art in the last century a succession of artistic revolutions of international significance, from Futurism to Spatialism to Arte Povera, to name but a few. Artists exhibited: Carla Accardi, Giovanni Anselmo, Giacomo Balla, Gianfranco Baruchello, Mirella Bentivoglio, Tomaso Binga, Irma Blank, Umberto Boccioni, Alighiero Boetti, Alberto Burri, Carlo Carrà, Felice Casorati, Enrico Castellani, Giorgio De Chirico, Dadamaino, Betty Danon, Fortunato Depero, Piero Dorazio, Gerardo Dottori, Lucio Fontana, Domenico Gnoli, Maria Lai, Bice Lazzari, Piero Manzoni, Marino Marini, Lucia Marcucci, Fausto Melotti, Mario Merz, Giorgio Morandi, Bruno Munari, Mimmo Paladino, Giulio Paolini, Carol Rama, Medardo Rosso, Luigi Russolo, Salvo, Alberto Savinio, Mario Schifano, Gino Severini, Mario Sironi Exhibition organised in close collaboration with Irina Zucca Alessandrelli, director of the Collezione Ramo in Milan.
