Erik Desmazières

Érik Desmazières 1948, Rabat, Morocco. In 1978, Érik Desmazières was awarded the Grand Prix des Arts de la Ville de Paris for engraving. He was President of the Societé des Peintres-Graveurs from 2006-2022 and has been a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts since 2008. He has greatly contributed to the popularity of printmaking, exploring his favourite themes of the strange and captivating – labyrinthine interiors, vertiginous urban landscapes, libraries, vanities, whimsies and other curiosities.
