Helmut Nimczewski

Helmut Nimczewski, also known as “Helmut” 1945 or 1946, Heidelberg, Germany. Brought up by his mother, Helmut Nimczewski never knew his father. At an early age, he was placed in various specialised institutions. After a long period in a psychiatric hospital, he now lives in a sheltered home in Hamburg, where he uses coloured pencils and felt-tip pens to create his own world, inspired by urban scenes and well-known monuments.
